Meet PFC’s Specification Manager South Gavin Jaggard. Discover what Gavin’s role involves as well as what he enjoys getting up to outside work.
What does your job involve?
I collaborate closely with Architects, Main Contractors, and Subcontractors to ensure the correct fire protection products are specified and applied appropriately across a wide range of projects. My role includes conducting site visits to deliver toolbox talks, carrying out on-site inspections, and presenting CPD sessions to educate teams on our product range and how they can be effectively integrated into their builds.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
The variety. No two days are the same, and every project brings its own unique challenges and opportunities. I particularly enjoy engaging with contractors and being part of the journey from early specification through to project completion. Seeing our products in action and contributing to safer buildings is incredibly rewarding.
What does a typical day look like for you?
When I’m out on site, my day usually involves face-to-face meetings with project teams to discuss PFC products and their application. I might be delivering a CPD presentation in the morning, followed by a site inspection or toolbox talk in the afternoon. It’s a dynamic role that keeps me on my toes and constantly learning.
